Our Reputation for Strategic Communications
Our reputation is important to us. Read what others think about Halo Communications and the strategic communications services we offer in the Wellington region.
Angela Bensemann from Halo Communications has taken the lead communications role in our project to transform Paraparaumu and Waikanae town centres since 2014.
Her energetic ‘can do’ attitude ensures all communication tasks are thoroughly and effectively completed. The project team consider her to be a key member of the core team due to the experience she brings to any discussion.
She set the tone with a comprehensive communications plan and then set about implementing it. She continues to ensure all key parties are kept up-to-date and the public know what is happening now that we are into the construction phase of the project.
The team enjoy working with Angela and know that if it’s on her ‘to do’ list, it will get done.
Infrastructure Programme Delivery Manager, Kapiti Coast District Council
The team at Kestrel has enjoyed working with Angela Bensemann of Halo Communications since 2009. Angela helps us plan our communications and marketing activities. Over the years this has included working on our brand refresh, website revamp, our newsletters, the launch of Talon and subsequent promotion.
Angela also works with our team to ensure our clients’ Public Information Managers (PIMs) and their media teams are put through their paces during crisis training exercises run by Kestrel. This work includes being familiar with the scenario, exerting media pressure on the team, mocking up media coverage, facilitating mock media briefings and providing advice and support to the media team.
We are impressed by Angela’s ability to grasp the brief and deliver within budget and timeframes. We’re looking forward to continuing to work with Angela.
Angela Bensemann has worked with Partners Porirua since 2013.
She has been involved in helping to establish the Porirua Youth 2 Work Movement providing communications support from the outset through to where we are now with 30 partners signed up and more than 75 casual, part-and-full time jobs for young people.
Angela has helped to raise the profile of Youth 2 Work through a comprehensive communications plan which has included media releases, regular features in local papers and the Youth 2 Work website. She has worked with a number of our employers and young people on case studies highlighting the successful opportunities that Youth 2 Work offers both businesses and youth.
I have found Angela to be highly efficient and well organised. She maintains regular communication to ensure the brief is met and has consistently delivered within timeframes and budget.
Executive Director, Partners Porirua
I gave Angela Bensemann control of my communications activities at the inception of my business back in 2009. She planned the marketing, helped with the flyer design, wrote my standard letters to welcome new clients and other necessary documentation, including aiming at the correct demographic.
When I moved my business recently, an enormously stressful time, Angela wrote a timeline for me, which helped me to tick all the many boxes in the correct order and have things open on time.
It is great to know I have someone to go to, when I have so many hats to wear. Angela takes the pressure off by managing a very important aspect of my business so that I can concentrate on other things.
If I am unsure about the tack to take, Angela is the first person I call to ask for advice. What stands out for me is her ability to communicate clearly and calmly in stressful situations and work things out in a pragmatic way, even when the wheels are falling off.

During my time as Communications and Marketing Manager for Porirua City Council I engaged Angela Bensemann of Halo Communications to work with me on several important initiatives over several years.
Angela is a very skilled communications practitioner. She offers that ideal combination of strategic thinking and planning while still relishing getting her hands dirty in the hands-on preparation and delivery of tactical communications.
Angela brings a wholehearted commitment to any task set before her and always goes the extra mile. She remains actively accountable to the agreed timelines and the budgets.
Some of the challenges Angela has undertook for me or my colleagues would not have unkindly been described as ‘hospital passes’. In every case, Angela helped to bring clarity, focus and agreement to the communication objectives and helped chart a clear course to acheiving them.
Angela played a key role in the preparation of Porirua City’s entries into the 2010 International Liveable Communities Awards. With Angela’s talent, commitment, people and organisational skills and a lot of really hard work, Porirua won three of the top awards at the finals, the only one of the 43 communities present to do so.
